Leaning into the Flow
Leaning into the Flow
Original Watercolor on Paper
9x12” matted to 14x18”
Leaning into the Flow came from an appreciation for water- how we gravitate towards it, even as it is subject to the gravity and impact of the world around us. My work in watercolor is dependent on water, bringing life and movement to my pieces. Throughout the process of creating this painting, I mixed water with pigment, which formed small puddles on the paper. By tilting my board, I allowed the water to flow in drips like rain down the surface. The pigment dried there, preserving the path of each rivulet.
Leaning into the Flow was selected for exhibition at The Cade Museum as part of The State of Water juried art show, as well as the Art of the Garden show at Artist with a Purpose Gallery.
Each original watercolor painting is designed and crafted as a lasting heirloom. I use only the highest quality professional pigments and acid-free watercolor paper. Signed discretely on the front, dated on the back. Matted to a standard size for the collector’s ease in framing.
