Watercolor Classes
“Natalie’s classes are so informative and they’re a ton of fun. I’ve been several times, and I’m looking forward to more. She is a very talented artist and teacher - you’ll leave with a love for watercolor.”
Orange Blossom Watercolor Collage
Friday March 21st
10am-12:30pm
at Leu Gardens in Orlando
Orange you excited to paint?! I’ll guide you step by step as we blend colors and experiment with developing texture in watercolor. Next, we’ll discover the joy of collage, as we transform our textured paintings into oranges ripe for the picking!
After this encouraging class you’ll have beautiful artwork ready to frame and skills to explore watercolor in a whole new way!
“Natalie Brooks is a wonderful teacher! I have taken other watercolor classes, but I learned more in one class with Natalie than I did in an entire series of classes with another teacher. Natalie has a gift for putting students at ease and for inspiring them to take risks and grow. She is patient, supportive, and encouraging. If you are hesitant about trying something new, but really want to learn how to paint, Natalie is the teacher for you. She is a warm, friendly person who shares her expertise with grace and humor. I can’t wait for my next class with her.”
Intro to Plein Air in Watercolor
Thursday April 10th
10am-12:30pm
at Leu Gardens in Orlando
If you’ve ever been inspired by the beauty of nature, this class is for you! I’ll guide you step by step in getting started with plein air in watercolor. First we’ll meet in the classroom to gather supplies, then we’ll take a little walk to explore our muse: the gardens! We’ll learn how to decide on a composition, what to prioritize “in the field,” and lots of skills to explore watercolor on the go! Then, we’ll head back to the classroom to put the finishing touches on our paintings!
There are so many ways to create nature-inspired art, and in this class, you’ll gain confidence by discovering what works best for you. You’ll have the opportunity to see several different plein air materials and set-ups, from pocket-sized nature notebooks to professional travel easels.
Please note: This class is accessible for all and will not require off-trail or long-distance walking. The outdoor portion of the class will last approximately 1-1.5hrs. In case of inclement weather, the class will be held indoors. Outdoor seating may be available but is not guaranteed; you are welcome to bring a camping chair or picnic blanket if you prefer not to stand during the outdoor portion.
All supplies are included in your session fee.

Learn to paint the delicate beauty of feathers! Inspired by the endangered Florida Scrub Jay, I’ll guide you step by step as we learn techniques for painting realistic feathers. Next, we’ll expand our study to include a variety of different bird feather patterns!
Whether you’re a beginner or experienced artist, you’ll have lots of fun and enhance your skills in this encouraging class!
“Natalie’s workshops were fun, informative, and empowering for a novice like me, and I came away with two pieces of art that I am proud to display in my home. Perfect for a ladies night or a date, and I look forward to the next one!”
